She criss-crossed the globe in World Cup competitions in 2008, but she decided to save the best for last when she nailed a second place finish in the parallel giant slalom during the 2008 World Cup finals in Valmalenco, Italy. She notched two more competition wins before the season's end placing sixth at the 2009 Visa U.S. Snowboarding Cup.
Personal
She first picked up a snowboard thanks to her cousin, but it wasn't until local rider Bill Enos missed the 1998 Olympic Team and returned to her town where she his received coaching. After three years at the Waterville Valley Snowboarding program, Michelle moved to Colorado and joined the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. She then made her first U.S. Snowboarding Team in 2003 and immediately began to compete full-time on the World Cup tour.
The proud Italian "Pirelli" enrolled in an Italian course at Dartmouth College during a summer as part of the Hoyt Dartmouth Language Program for U.S. coaches and athletes.
