 Personal

Inspired by early snowboard movies, Holland moved to Squaw Valley in 1999 and got his first job on the mountain as a lift operator. He began competing in freestyle snowboard events like halfpipe and boardercross when he was 10. It was not until the International Olympic Committee announced that snowboard cross would be an official event in the Olympic Winter Games that he moved completely to boardercross.
