LOS ANGELES, CA (Nov. 3) - Direct from a podium at the Audi FIS Alpine World Cup opener in Soelden, Austria, Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) will be featured Wednesday on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly.
The profile, which Ligety filmed last spring, will air at 1:35 a.m. ET and will be available online after the airdate at http://www.nbc.com/Last_Call_with_Carson_Daly/
Ligety is currently training with the U.S. Ski Team in Europe in preparation for a Nov. 15 World Cup slalom in Levi, Finland. It will be the second stop before the tour swings to North America for speed races in Lake Louise, Alberta over Thanksgiving weekend, followed by the Audi Birds of Prey race week in Beaver Creek, CO.
The segment will profile "Shred's" rise to his breakthrough combined gold medal at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino and follow him through his 2008 World Cup giant slalom title and 2009 World Championships GS bronze medal. An underdog going into 2006, Ligety has risen to become one of the most talented technical skiers in the world.
The segment is part of a string of late night appearances for U.S. Ski Team athletes as Resi Stiegler (Jackson Hole, WY) was featured on Last Call on May 27 and Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) appeared on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien last week.
